If you've accidently deleted an important text, is there anyway you can get it back?

My phone also has issues where it constantly switches the location of the stored texts from E: Mass Memory where i want it to C:.

So I'll have 500 odd texts in E, then I'll get a new text, the phone will say theres not enough memory or something and switch the storage location to C: leaving me with like 15 texts! I'll change the settings back to E: and I'll get almost 500 back with the last few days missing. Its really getting on my nerves, keeps doing it.

The Nokia PC suite also refuses to back up any messages, that normal?

Someone told me to do *#7780# and that it may reset the messages and give me back my deleted text but it didn't work?

Anyone else had problems like this? Is there any software where you can look inside the phone properly, I read somewhere FFexplore is good but I couldnt get it to install.

Is there anyway to recover my texts? There was one really important one I wanted to get back

That bug really annoys me as well, and it's for that reason I've gone back to using the C: storage and just keeping my inbox tidy.

You'll find that those messages haven't actually gone, and if you switch back to the C: memory for your message centre they'll be sat there quite happily. From there you can still view the message.

In terms of transferring that message back to the E: drive if you still want to use it, if it were me I'd do some very careful backing up with Ovi suite on your PC:
You should be able to set Ovi suite's sync direction between:

  • both ways

  • Phone to PC only

  • PC to phone only

In which case you could change back to C: to see the "lost" messages, do a sync once you've set ovi suite to go Phone to PC only. Then switch back to E: drive on your phone and do a PC to phone only sync.

I believe that should do the job as long as you're careful with those settings
