app manager not working 1 Year, 11 Months ago Karma: 0
Hi Chaps,
Ive been trying to update maps / messenger and am always being told that i dont have enough memory. I decided to reinstall the firmware, hoping this may free up some (it didnt). Since then though i have been unable to see the installed apps list where you can delete stuff. The instalation files and instalation settings options still work but when i select installed apps option it just goes blank. Any ideas?
Thanks
Alex

Alex,

It's sounding like you are using v10 or v11 of the firmware, as it was hell for these kinds of issues.

The best advice I can possibly give you is to look through the forums and find instructions on doing a complete wipe of your mass memory and a hard reset (REMEMBER back up only important personal files from your mass memory like photos and music, the rest is better off being reset!), then installing the v20 (or v21 if you're lucky) firmware.

The complete wipe is incredibly important as it will free up all the dead memory that v10 and v11 seemed to leave on the C: drive.

Once you've done a complete wipe of the phone and have v20 installed (don't be suprised if you have to do another hard reset after installing the firmware to stop the phone behaving erratically), you'll find that you can install everything properly again.

From this point on, if you're given the choice install to the E: drive rather than C:, it keeps the phone fresh. The only exception I'd make there is that if you're installing themes, they're best off on the C: drive (I've done tests myself around this) just don't clog it up with loads of them.

Good luck, and you'll find plenty of help around the forums if you get stuck.

Not a problem, If you're seeing those problems on v20 then it definately needs a hard reset. Let us know how you get on in case someone else experiences the same problem
