Well I bought my N97 few days back and am still to figure out how to download attachments from my mails? whenever i click on the attachment, a symbol on status bar just rotates a bit but nothing happens after that. Can any1 help me?

Also i want to know what should i install on my mobile to view .xls, .doc, .ppt, .pdf attachments and files? i.e basically all MS Office and PDF files?

I'm not sure if it's what you want, but the OVI store does have a MS Office app that allows Excel, PowerPoint and Word, I believe. It has been a few days since I checked it out, it cost's 19.99, if I remember correctly, you may want something different, I just mentioned this because I was looking at it and thinking about buying it.

There is probably freeware out there, I just have not had the time to research any yet, so I can't help you out with it, yet.

Well i checked that out too. However is that software necessary for downloading attachements even those attachments not supported by MS office?

Are you using the default messaging app or Messaging from (email.nokia.com)?

If you are using the latter you ned to go to Settings > What to sync

You need to go the bottom of this screen and enter the file types you want to enable download of for your inbox, sent and draft folders. I aslo increase the attachment size to 3 - 4MB.
