Ouch looks painful. Especially since these handsets can't be that old either.

But like jeffmasson said - I had an N95 8gb for ages and it's still fine.

Cotton bud and a bit of meths should sort any scuffs out though. Scratches are obviously more permanent.

I have set up a poll over on Nokiausers, and would appreciate anyone who is experiencing these issues to vote, and post a photo showing the damage caused. This information will then be taken with me to Nokia World in September in the hope I can put it to a key person at Nokia.

Ok, I have now gather quite a lot of information regarding this issue, and will be contacting each and every person who has reported scratches on their N97 main camera glass, requesting their IMEI numbers. Don't worry, Im a valued member, and trustworthy, and the reason I will be contacting everyone for their IMEI number is to try and track down the batch/es of N97's this issue is related to.

I have also been gathering as many photos, and names corresponding to said photos also, which will all be put together in a document, which I will be taking to Nokia World with my in September, in the hope to get an Official response. I have thus far had no reply to any of the messages I have sent so far, and have now requested contact details for the person in charge of the N97 design & build.

If you have submitted a vote to our Nokiausers Poll, thank you, if you have not, please do, if your not registered, then please please register, and cast your votes, and submit photos, because at the moment, this is the only ammunition we have to get this issue heard.

FOA Mod's. Seeing as your drop-test N97 gained a cracked camera lens glass during your tests, do you fancy putting together a guide on replacement, or at least disassemble, and take some high quality Macro photo of its build, and construction.?

This really sucks, and very un Nokia like, usually they are so good!!!

According to FixYa you can go to Nokia and they'll fix it.

is there anyone out here that tried this service? How Nokia fix it?

according to symbian guru (and by extension, nokia mobile talk) nokia has admitted the problem and will be accepting repair requests. the extent to which they will be "fixing" the problem is still up for debate atm.
