Following on from our  N97 vs iPhone comparison, it's now time to put the N97 up to the Xperia X1. Once again we'll state before the comparison that we don't yet have an N97 to do a full comparison but we can compare specs. Both the N97 and the Xperia look the part, both featuring a touch screen as well as a slide out QWERTY keyboard. The N97 run on Symbian S60v5, whereas the Xperia runs on Microsoft Windows mobile 6.1. Personally I've never been a fan or had much luck with Windows mobile devices, I've owned several and always sworn it would be my last but 6.1 apparently has been much improved over previous version, it's said to be more stable and feature rich. It would be interesting to hear from some X1 users. | | Nokia N97 | Xperia X1 | | Air Interface | GSM/HSDPA | GSM/UMT/HSDPA | | Band | Quad | Quad | | Dimensions | 55 x 117 x 16 mm | 53 x 111 x 17 mm
| | Onboard Storage | 32GB | 512MB with 400MB free | | Memory Card | Up to 32GB | Up to 32GB | | Text Input | Resistive Touch screen with full QWERTY | Resistive Touch screen with full QWERTY | | Screen Size | 3.5" | 3.8" with 800px x 480px | | Weight | 150g | 158 g
| | Talk Time | Up to 6 hours | Up to 10 hours
| | Standby Time | Up to 430 hours | Up to 833 hours | | Camera | 5mp with auto focus and duel LED flash | 3.15mp, autofocus and flash
| | Video Recording | VGA at 30fps | VGA at 30fps | | Push email | Yes | Yes | | GPS | Assisted GPS with Nokia Maps | Assisted GPS | | Bluetooth | Yes v2.0 with A2DP | Yes v2.0 with A2DP |  Once again the Nokia N97 excels in the same areas:5mp  Camera and it's monster 32GB onboard storage. Nokia really pushed the boundaries with the onboard storage, doubling even the largest iPhone currently available. The Xperia though, has a slightly bigger and higher resolution screen. Something else notable about the Xperia is the battery life, both standby and talk time are almost double the N97, though it is particularly good and beats most competitors in this area. Both phones are quite similar in size and shape and both particularly stylish, you'd not be shy pulling either out of your pocket in the pub. Though personally, the N97 has the slight edge for me.ÂÂ
