Have I made a mistake?

Reading some of the threads on here and other forums have I bought a pup or will it actually be a brilliant phone and internet device?

Also does anyone know if Vodafone only do the N97 in black as I wasn't asked what colour I wanted and I forgot to ask (I do want black).

So is the phone any good or will I be cancelling after 14days?

As far as I know all UK networks are only offering the black model of the N97 because, and someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Phones4u have an 8 week exclusive of the white model. So the only way currently to get a white N97 is to pre-order with Phones4u or to buy SIM free off Nokia.

However, I am led to believe that people ordering with Vodaphone get a free set of portable speakers. Which doesnt sound too bad at all

As for your concerns about the phone - I personally think its really good. Maybe suffering from some early bugs but nothing a firmware update wont fix. If you are still unsure, please have a loot at some Nokia N97 user opinions.

i think nokia have already re;eased a firmware update for the N97, but it remains to be seen if it reaches the vodafone users very quickly, as vodafone will vet it first.

i will more than likely put generic FW on my vodafone (black) N97 which will turn up tomorrow (friday) so that i get all the (no doubt frequent) FW updates as and when nokia release them

bottom line, no you havent made a mistake. there may be some initial teething troubles, but ultimately the N97 should be awesome.

the speakers are nokia MD-8 i think, which are available on ebay for around £5, however its always nice to get something for free

don't worry when i got my n95 8gb it was very buggy but after a week of use it stoped playing up and with each firmware update it just got better and better. the only problem i had with it was that the update wipes the phone so you need to back up first. 2 mouths of work bilding up my contacks getting the perfict setting all gone becouse i did not read the info (used to updating ps3 psp ect). oh well
