I am having problems using my Maps application and cannot get my device to even find my position when I ask it to.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

What version of Maps are you using?
Open Maps and click on either Options/About or the "?" symbol depending on the version you are using.
Also go to the "Locations" app and to "Positioning" and then "Positioning Server". What is set here?
If it is not set to:
Positioning server use - Automatic
Access Point - (Choose data connection)
Server address - supl.nokia.com
Try these settings.

This is my first time posting, let me tell you what I found thru trial and error since I have had my phone for the last wee while 4 weeks
Ok, Make sure your have set your clock, date and time, if you dont, you will find that some applications like nokia Maps wont work...cause the sis certificate is in the future....when i took the battery out, I had to reset this stuff
Also fresh out today, there was a problem that I solved myself with Accuview wiget and Nokia Maps and locations
Just found this out thru trial and error and want to pass it on to you folks
I love/loved Accuview as a widget on my N97 ...Great to have local and overseas weather forcasts.
I started having problems with gaining initial fix with Nokia maps not working for ages, I could not work our was was wrong.
Accuview has an option to track down the local weather based on your GPS Location but tries to do this by default. It appears that this causes a conflict with the Nokia Maps GPS application.
Option 1, go into AccuView and manually load your city
Option 2, Remove Accuview as a Wiget, you do not need to remove the program, just remember to close the application before using Nokia Maps. (I've taken this option)
Im thinking this would also cause conflicts with any other applications with GPS that you might have open as a widget on the N97 home screen
I have disabled A-GPS now to save on data charges and also see how long it takes for a hot fix or cold fix over the next week or so. At the moment it's 6 seconds on a hotfix

Most of the Nokia N97 have GPS antenna problems, so if you have never tried finding your position before or it never worked then that might be the problem. I had to take my phone to Nokia Care and they had it fixed.
