i actually just noticed that with the new 2.0 software update kinetic scrolling in the ovi store list is effed up. i don't know if it's just me.

Basically when i touch the screen to scroll through the list - the moment i touch the screen it's recognised as a click and therefore it takes me to the app details page.

any one has the same problem?

use the "download" application to get the OVI store update. it works fine after that.

im liking v20, i debranded as follows

backup phone
hard reset
restored contacts/messages/calendar and user files
backup (2nd time)
hard reset
changed product code
flashed
hard reset
restored 2nd backup

gradually rebuilt phone to where it was.

kinetic working really smoothly with no lag or skips.

some minor annoyances with nokia email not being embedded, and it trying to use random access points, but overall love v20.

i have heard that the euro 1 product code v20 FW has been pulled temporarily, (not sure why) and nokia FW check online confirms latest FW is V12.

..will probably have to re-flash when it goes back up again so i get whatever they've fixed

Ok, update:

After still no progress on the connectivity error on my win vista i went ahead and tried to update on a different comp with XP SP3 on it.

It did everything ok and started downloading the ~140mb update but when it finished downloading and it was time to start the update itself - same message "try not connecting through usb hubs" and such.

Even when i restart the computer and try to start the update again it tells me straight away, without even trying to download the update, that update failed and the same connectivity problem.

Im beginning to think this is a phone issue because there is no way that software updater and ovi suite see my phone fine and even tell me that i need to update to ver. 2 firmware, but then before it even starts to update it straight away failes. Oh, and i also did the hard reset before trying to update - no luck, and im using the original nokia usb cable and it transfers files fine, so it cant be a cable problem.

hmm, if you have done all the correct reset operations before, then the only thing i can think of is force flashing using the JAF method?

it was s trick used by many voda uk users that bricked their handsets trying to debrand (including me, except i didnt get jaf to work properly )

if you google "bricked n97" you should get some good hits to find what the JAF method is.

something else i have noticed is that i can now remotely control my sms via BT on my kenwood head unit in the car. nice addition.

i have heard that those who updated on day 1 should now re-download and flash v20 again since the FW has been put back up on the NSU servers. i havent done it yet, but apparently it does bring some improvements (although no difference in actual revision, ie 20.0.019)
