Hi All
Not sure if anyone else is having this annoying issue:
During a call my N97 phone is beeping. Around once every 20/30 seconds.
The caller can here the beep.
Call waiting is activated - but there is no call waiting - so it's not that.
The battery is charged - so it's not that.
I've just tried phoning the voicemail - to see if I could figure out what is causing it (listening if there were any beeps) - Nothing
It's driving me bonkers - Any ideas?

Does it still beep if it is on speaker phone? If so, does anything appear on the screen when it beeps?
Is your phone connected to the USB or charger while you're on the call? If so, the beeps you're hearing is probably the phone indicating that it is starting and stopping charging.

It doesn't beep if on speakerphone. And it isn't connected to anything - charger - usb etc
When it beeps I do pull it away from my ear to see if there is anything on the screen - but - nothing...
I'm going to trying locking it every call I make / receive - to see if that shuts the thing up!
Also - will kill all my apps (Skype, Email, UVR) and see if that helps.

For me it does beep, usually before the receiver of the call picks up though so they don't hear it.
I reckon the beep could be the phone telling you your packet data connection is opening/closing?
Mine beeps once the second the call starts, then beeps again to tell me packet data is once again open. Also it beeps like 3 times at the end which is telling me the receiver has hung up on their end.

Righto - Think this has been sorted!
I have (Had) UVR running in the background (ultimate Voice Recorder) - now I had it running on the N73 & it worked a treat - no beeps etc whilst recording.
However!! - UVR on the N97 beeps - IF - there is a call & phone is rotated slightly whilst walking around (beeps every time the screen was switching between portrait & landscape mode) !!!
I've uninstalled UVR & works ok now! - There must be something about UVR & S60v5 I reckons!
