Yes, but I have the same problem with both 2.0 and 3.0

Paul, are you saying that 3.0 does not have this problem? I have not tried 3.0 yet, but will soon.
gs, I did try the version with the phone, and yes, I did have some quirks, unfortunately I was only showing my wife, so I did not play around with it much at that time.
Anyway, I did find that if I put in the exact address that I wanted to go to, it would not find it. This did upset me, but like I said I was in a hurry and I may have not been putting the info in the right place. I did find if Iremoved the exact address such as 3120 Peachtree St w/zip down to just Peachtree St w/zip it found it witrh no problems. I did like the way it worked once I got it find the place I wanted though. I think I will go ahead and DL 3.0 and check it out tomorrow.
Nevermind Paul, I see while I was tying that gs answered my question.

I use Maps extensively around the world and while it does have issues, especially on the N95-1 with its limited memory, it works and works well.
Nokia Maps or Ovi Maps as it is known now can be quite particular about how you enter in addresses and names.
Once you figure that out, it is pretty useful and the turn-by-turn navigation with voice prompts is something currently not available on the iPhone and unless Apple changes their developer's policy, will never be available on the iPhone because Apple specifically disallows any application that will encourage a user to use the phone while driving.
That said, if Maps is not working for you, you can also always use Google Maps on the N97, and that's certainly more US-centric as opposed to Maps which isn't as US-centric for now.
Having used Maps since v1.0, it has definitely improved, especially after Nokia bought NAVTEQ.
The biggest gains on the iPhone is the iPod functionality and the fantastic UI.
For me, the N97 wins hands-down as a pocket do-it-all-darn-well device.

Oh, and BTW, I've used my N97 with one hand, including reply to emails with handwriting no less.
I've won my share of thumb-wrestling matches

Which version of Maps are your using?
Also if that is the deal breaker just download Google Maps for the N97. Job done. That's all that is on the iPhone anyway.
